Dinner and Networking
Armand held a private dinner for the speakers, VIPs, and other folks who paid to attend it.
Dinner was fantastic - filet mignon, bacon-wrapped shrimp, delicious baby carrots and asparagus, and an amazing fruit and cream tart for dessert.
Even better than the dinner, however, was the company. My brother and I sat at a table with Michel Fortin and Ryan Diess, and their lovely brides. Amazingly enough, Michel has been reading this blog throughout the day, and complemented me on it (thanks, Michel!)
Two other attendees were at our table, but I'm afraid that I did not catch their names. But Michel and Ryan were more than willing to dispense advice to them, and I think they both got something very valuable from the dinner conversation.
After dinner, at 9 pm, Armand invited everyone back for a little networking. John Reese had a circle of folks around him, hanging on his every word. Armand bought John a beer, but it was a Budweiser, and John proclaimed it to be "the redneck beer", and declined to drink it. I, myself, not having significant standards, was more than happy to drink the Bud, and I bought John a Heineken (which was good enough for him to drink).
So remember folks - if you ever buy John Reese a beer, make it an import
After networking time, Dave Mizrachi and Dave Bernstein (DJ Dave) came up to our room, and we talked internet marketing (also in this picture is Dave, my brother and personal assistant. Or, my "Slave Labor" according to our mother) . We were pretty sauced by that point, and I'm sure I'll have a hangover in the morning… but overall the first day of BSLA was fantastic.
Too bad Jay Jennings couldn't make it…
Oh, by the way Jay - Jim Edwards mentioned Sonic Memo in his presentation. Thought you'd like to know…
Till tomorrow…
